Travel & Accommodation

The workshop will take place in room 311 of the School of Geography, Earth & Environmental Sciences, University of Birmingham.  This is building R26 on the campus map.  The easiest way to get to the University of Birmingham is by train to University station – a regular service runs from Birmingham New Street mainline station and takes approximately 7 minutes.  There is no parking available for visitors on the main campus itself, though there are pay and display spaces in the South Car Park which is approximately a ten minute walk from the Geography building.  Follow the A38 Bristol Road south from the city centre and follow the signs for the University of Birmingham (turn right by the Gun Barrels public house).

There may be accommodation available in the University’s Conference Park which is approximately 15 minutes walk from the Geography Building.  There are also a number of bed and breakfasts close to campus:

The Awentsbury Hotel
